School Happenings!
It was an amazing week at Menno as we hosted our annual Penny Carnival to raise funds for Friends of Mennonite Centre Ukraine. Tickets were sold in bunches of 8 for $2 and kids were given the opportunity to select the games they wanted to play. Each grade set up various carnival games: lemon sucking, scooter rides and even an escape room! Over $550 was raised for this amazing organization.
We also celebrated Peace Week with the students and explored what it means to pursue "Jesus Solutions". Pastors Caleb Kowolko, Donna Dinsmore and Mike Swalm came as special guest speakers to encourage students to see that Jesus found creative solutions in the face of conflict, a creative third way where you don't give in, nor fight back unkindly, but stand up for others and yourself in a kind and powerful way.
They put together a Peace Festival Art Project that is currently on display in the school atrium. All in all an exciting week of activity at Menno!
