Acceptance
“Therefore, accept one another, just as Christ also accepted us to the glory of God.” Romans 15:7 (NASB)
This verse gives us a summary of the marks which should characterize Menno Simons Christian School. Menno should be known for the consideration of its students and parents for each other. Our thoughts should be, not for ourselves, but for each other. We care for each other. Our first thoughts are not ones of self-sufficiency but are other centered because we truly put others first.
But this consideration must not degenerate into an easy-going, leniency. It must always be designed for the other person’s good and for upbuilding in their faith. Keeping in mind that we don’t tolerate all behaviour because we are too lazy to do anything else. But we accept one another because we know that a person is won much more easily to a fuller faith by surrounding them with an atmosphere of love than by attacking them with criticism and judgement.
